Wait a minute.. I pay 170 quid a year for road tax at the minute. I do 70 miles a day getting here, which is 350 miles a week – with say 50 miles at the weekend. That’s 20,800 miles a year. If, according to the governments plans, I did ALL of that driving on “country lanes” (which are going to be the cheapest), that’ll cost me 2p a mile.
