I’ve got some rather random things today that I thought I’d blog about. Right now everyone seems to be protesting at the University near to where I work. The students at Keele University appear to be blocking traffic in protest at their exam papers not being marked. The reason for this is because the Association of University Teachers (AUT) are participating in something called “Action Short Of a Strike” (ASOS). This basically means they’ll do the bear minimum work (I think) and nothing further. Just a few months ago they were handing out leaflets and protesting themselves – blocking roads and holding up banners. Now it’s the turn of the students, who are sitting in the middle of the road and stopping the Lecturers getting to / from work. Yes, the protesters today are protesting because of the… err… protests. Still, at least the pub is still open.
Meanwhile the guys at Astraware (makers of Windows Mobile games such as Astraware Sudoku, Seven Seas, Bejeweled, Cubis and Atomica) have been taking their towels into work to honour Douglas Adams, writer of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” amongst other books.
What else was I gonna mention? Oh, Big Brother – I’ve had some emails about this. I’m trying my best not to watch it at the moment. They all appear to be a bunch of utterly mental twunts. Possibly the most sane amongst them is Pete, who’s apparently mashed his brain up on horse tranqualizers .. oh, and he also has Tourette’s Syndrome… If you haven’t seen him in action then he’s quite possibly the only reason to turn Big Brother on at the minute. Oh, and finally I’ve been given 3 tickets from one of my suppliers for the England v. Paraguay game on 10th June. However, as I’m getting married on that day I can’t make it.
I just wanted to know if any of you guys wanted them? They’re 50 each, or 120 if you buy all three. The seating position is shown below. Let me know ASAP if you want them.
