Our local family Doctor is a nice chap. In fact, I think he’s so nice that he’s in high demand.
They have a rule though, and it’s that you must make an appointment before 9AM. This makes things difficult and, on a Monday especially, it becomes a near-impossible task. Firstly, you must get out of your sick bed and call before 9, secondly, you must wear out the “redial” button as you struggle to get through. For 45 minutes now I’ve been listening to the “busy” tone and it’s not fun.
All I want to do is book an appointment to see the local Doctor. Should that be so hard to do ? Sure, I know there’s “walk in” centres and I can get an appointment if I call after 9 if it’s super-urgent but this system is utterly stupid.
