Moral decay – It’s not just the rioters

Yes, it is terrible that certain sections of society believe that they have a “right” to get something for nothing, but we all have very short memories. Whilst we may agree with the MP’s to some degree when they call rioters “thieves” and “morally corrupt”, we’ve perhaps forgotten that MP’s stole from the public purse on a huge scale just a short while ago. MP’s felt that their expenses could be fluffed and tweaked to grow their own bank balance, and they knew – like those rioters did – that the consequences were simply none-existant.

This Daily Telegraph article is well worth a read and goes into detail about how all sections of society have an element of greed and selfishness, not just the hooded youths.

The culture of greed and impunity we are witnessing on our TV screens stretches right up into corporate boardrooms and the Cabinet. It embraces the police and large parts of our media. It is not just its damaged youth, but Britain itself that needs a moral reformation.
