Don’t throw frisbees near electricity substations

Remember those old public information films when you were a kid ? For some reason at school we almost had these played to us daily. The green cross code, “Charly Says”, “Clunk-Click Every Trip” and those nutters who used to fly kites underneath pylons… what were they thinking ? We all knew what to do and what not to do, however they insisted on wheeling out the big old dome-screen TV’s with pre-historic video-players that almost took your eye out when you inserted a tape.

Our teacher always used to play us the ones that were around 5 years out of date. I particularly remember this one, which used to scare the living sh**e out of me at the time. Check out that lads posh accent, “We’re not supposed to go in there”.

I remember, even when I was 7 years old, thinking, “Why the hell does that kid seem so posh, yet he’s thick enough to not only break into an electricity substation, but he actually climbs onto one of those buzzy things you’d never touch in a million years, even is someone told you it was off”…

But wait – that’s not a patch on the classic, “We’re all gonna die, but you may possibly be able to survive a direct nuclear attack by crouching down a bit” films…
