Bank Holiday Weekends are few and far between. For those who are not familiar, it’s a three-day weekend, when .. Banks are closed. No, I’m not sure either. It could only be us Brits who have a holiday which is about banks closing. Lets face it, banks are pretty crap. They’re shut whenever you need them, but they always say that there’s “24 hour phone banking”, which means you get through to someone in a call centre half-way across the world who doesn’t understand any town name you mention.
Second paragraph – must try and not mention banks again. Dull topic. Banks – they’re irritating aren’t they ? I called LloydsTSB today (my bank), and a the end of the conversation I get ..
Them – Would you be intersted in a credit card Sir?
Me – Nope.
Them – If you were it would help reduce your overall costs – you’re paying more for your overdraft
Me – But I don’t want a credit card – I’ve had it with credit cards. No thanks.
Conversation over? Nope… Just one more call to Phonebanking about another matter and it’s all the same…

Me – Nope – you’ve asked me once today about that thanks, I’m ok.

Now… let’s not go into the third conversation.. because it got nasty… I’ll give you the short version…

Me – AGH!! NOT AGAIN! You can shove you’re credit card right up…

Other stuff that got on my nerves this week included this chuffin EBay auction for Britney Spears’ chewing gum. After some intense media interest the bids went crazy – over a MILLION QUID at one point (albeit from a crazy person with a -1 Ebay rating)
Yes, a bit of chewing gum that was spat out by Britney Spears. At the time of writing EBay have re-listed the item, this time only for serious bidders – and it’s running in the hundreds already. COME ON PEOPLE!!! IT’S USED CHEWING GUM!! YOU SAD PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!
